Across the creek, the first stop in the planned city.
After Mankhurd the Harbour Line runs out over Thane Creek on a long bridge, and the first station on the far side is Vashi. This is Navi Mumbai, the city planned in the 1970s to take the pressure off the island: wide roads, numbered sectors and space. Vashi station itself, with an office park built over the platforms, set the pattern for the rest.
